The story behind this design
The stripes are the Nordic kind: bands of varying weight stacked against each other, some solid and some broken into dashes, the way a knitted yoke is patterned. Running along a narrow strap the arrangement turns into a rhythm rather than a picture, and the vintage red keeps it closer to a wool blanket than to wrapping paper.
