The story behind this design
Old surf decals used flat ink and heavy type, and that is the register here: a crescent moon with its craters marked as plain circles, a couple of ruled lines standing in for water beneath it, and Lunar Daze set in a wide 1970s face. Nothing is shaded. The whole graphic uses one color, which is what lets it sit on six different dyed grounds without being redrawn.
