The story behind this design

A weekly page has to give seven rows equal weight, so the artwork is confined to the header rather than scattered down the sheet. The florals there are painted in blush and soft grey washes with no outlines, which keeps them from reading as a logo. Pale rules divide the days, light enough that a pen crosses them without fighting.
