The story behind this design
The berries are the loudest thing in this drawing and everything else is arranged to carry them: short pine sprigs angle away from each cluster, and the snowflakes are kept small and pale so they read as space rather than as a second motif. The ground is a cold washed blue, which is what keeps the reds from turning Christmassy. It is a winter design more than a holiday one, and it holds up through February.
