Witch Grimoire Ravens and Candles
About This Item
This DipaliZ die-cut sticker shows a sorceress at her grimoire, ringed by ravens and lit candles. The vinyl is cut right to the edge of the illustration, leaving no square border. Five sizes are offered from 2 by 2 up to 6 by 6 inches. The candle flames are the finest detail in the piece, so the larger sizes carry the drawing best.

The story behind this design
Candles are hard to draw in pure black line, because a flame is light and line work is dark. The solution here is to leave the flames as white gaps and build the darkness around them, so the glow is made of absence rather than ink. The ravens sit low and the candlesticks rise, which sets up a vertical rhythm through the piece. It is the most crowded composition in this DipaliZ range, and the one that rewards the 6 inch size.
Frequently asked questions
Q: What does this sticker show?
A: A sorceress at her grimoire with ravens and lit candles around her, drawn in black-and-white line work by DipaliZ.
Q: What sizes are sold?
A: Five sizes are sold: 2 by 2, 3 by 3, 4 by 4, 5 by 5 and 6 by 6 inches.
Q: How is the sticker cut?
A: It is die-cut, so the vinyl is cut right to the edge of the illustration and no square border remains.
Q: Which size shows the candle detail best?
A: The candles are the finest element in the drawing, so the 4, 5 and 6 inch sizes hold that detail more clearly than the 2 inch.
