The story behind this design

The three animals are drawn at the same scale even though a goat dwarfs a raccoon in life, which is what makes them read as friends rather than a wildlife chart. Washes are laid wet so rust orange, warm grey and cream bleed softly into one another at the edges, and no outline is used anywhere.
