The story behind this design
The three animals are drawn at the same scale even though a goat dwarfs a raccoon in life, which is what makes them read as friends rather than a wildlife chart. Washes are laid wet so rust orange, warm grey and cream bleed softly into one another at the edges, and no outline is used anywhere. Each face is turned very slightly towards the viewer, which is the detail that stops the group looking posed.
