The story behind this design
Berries lead here rather than leaves: clusters of them sit forward on the ring with the holly foliage falling back behind, so the warm red reads first and the green supports it. The wreath leaves its center open, which is what keeps the artwork intact when it is cropped into a heart or a star. Two colors do the whole drawing.
