A jam session is several people playing at once, and the artwork takes that literally: instruments overlap rather than sitting in a row, so no one of them is the subject. Colors are assigned per instrument instead of per shape, which keeps the tangle readable. It is drawn to look improvised while being carefully arranged, which is more or less what a good jam sounds like.
