The story behind this design
The astronaut rides in a low crouch with one arm out for balance and the apple held in the other, and the board throws off a short trail of stars rather than dust. Because there is no ground in the picture, the crouch is the only thing telling you the figure is riding rather than falling. The suit is kept in flat greys so the red apple and the star trail carry all the colour.
