The story behind this design
All-over printing is the reason this design has no focal point. A chest graphic would be cut in half by the print area on a garment made this way, so the Santa figures, spruce trees and ornaments were drawn as a repeating field instead, sized so that a sleeve shows roughly the same density of motif as the body. The polyester-led blend is what lets the ink bond across the whole panel, which is why the pattern can run over the shoulder seam without a break.
