The story behind this design

The gifts at the base of the tree are what make this design different from the plain tree card in the same range. They give the composition a wide, heavy bottom edge, which stops the tree looking as though it is floating on the card, and the star at the top closes the shape. Everything is drawn in flat color with no gradients, because gradients band badly on uncoated stock.
