The story behind this design
The campfire is drawn low and close, the way a fire looks two hours in rather than when it is first lit: a shallow bed of embers, a few standing logs, and sparks going up in a thin line rather than a shower. The palette is ember orange and ash grey over the garment color, with no night sky behind it, so the fire sits directly on the fabric. On Dark Chocolate and Sand the effect is strongest, because the ground already reads as earth.
