The story behind this design
A 36 by 12 inch frame is a letterbox, and a forest is the rare subject that wants exactly that shape: trunks give you verticals to measure the width against, and a sunset gives you a horizontal band to run the whole length. The animals are small and placed off-center, so finding them is the second thing you do rather than the first.
