The story behind this design

The stalk is drawn vertically and a little off-centre, the way a specimen is pinned to a herbarium sheet, with the leaves left unfilled so the cotton shows through them. Keeping the linework thin and the palette narrow means the print reads as a sketch rather than a poster. It was drawn to sit on pale ground, which is why every colourway offered here is light.
