The story behind this design

One sunflower, drawn head-on with its petals splayed unevenly rather than arranged in a neat wheel, carries the whole shirt. The centre is worked in dense stippled marks that give the seed head weight against the flatter petals. Set on gold it almost disappears into the cloth; on navy and black the yellow does all the work.
