DipaliZ Flamingo Pattern Desk Mat – Rubber Mouse Pad

The DipaliZ Flamingo Desk Mat is a printed desk mat that works as a mouse pad and a keyboard mat. Pink flamingos repeat across the surface against a tropical ground, in a pattern pitched bright rather than muted. Three sizes are offered, from mouse-sized up to a full desk span. It suits a home office or a gaming setup that would rather be cheerful than corporate.

The story behind this design

A desk mat is looked at for hours at a stretch, which is a real test of a bright pattern: it has to stay likeable rather than merely eye-catching. The flamingos here are drawn simply, in two or three tones of pink with no fussy detail, and set at a scale where the eye can rest on one bird instead of scanning the whole field. The tropical ground is kept cooler than the birds, so the pink reads as the subject throughout.

Care

Wipe the surface with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, then let the mat air dry flat. Do not machine wash, soak or iron it, and roll rather than fold it for storage so the printed surface stays flat.
