DipaliZ Space Desk Mat Neon Galaxy Neoprene Gaming Pad

The DipaliZ neon galaxy desk mat is a neoprene mat printed with planets and stars in neon colors. Three sizes are sold: 12" x 18", 12" x 22" and 16" x 32". Neon on a dark ground is the one palette that reads well under the low light most gaming desks run at. The 16" x 32" size covers a keyboard and mouse together, which is the usual choice for a gaming setup. Sizes and material are taken from this product's own specification.

The story behind this design

A galaxy design lives or dies on its darkness, and this one commits: planets and stars in neon sit on a ground deep enough to make them glow rather than merely show. Scattering the planets at different scales does the work of depth without any perspective tricks. The mood is expansive and slightly synthetic, the space of a poster rather than a telescope.
