The story behind this design
Basil and sun-dried tomatoes are the two ingredients that tell you a kitchen is Italian before anything is cooked. The drawing keeps them close together and slightly overlapping, the way they would sit on a board rather than in a diagram. Warm reds against green give the piece its heat without any other colour being needed.
