The story behind this design
Bands of green and purple run the width of the cushion at uneven weights, so the rhythm shifts as the eye travels down rather than repeating on a fixed beat. Putting a cool violet directly against a leafy green is an unusual pairing, and it gives the stripe a botanical rather than nautical character. The result is bold but not brash, closer to a striped garden awning than a deck chair.
