The story behind this design
The label was drawn around the wick rather than the scent, which is unusual for a candle. Because a wooden wick is a visible horizontal line across the wax, the artwork leaves the upper third of the jar clear so you can see it, and keeps the type low and narrow. The tones are woodsmoke grey and pale bark, close enough to the wick itself that the jar looks designed as one object. Oakmoss and Amber is the scent the palette was matched to.

A: Trim the wood down to about an eighth of an inch and snap off the charred crust before each burn. A wooden wick that is left long will drown in its own melt pool.
Care
Snap the charred crust off the wooden wick and trim it to roughly an eighth of an inch before every burn. Let the first burn pool the wax to the edge of the glass. Keep burns under four hours, use a heat-safe surface, keep it away from drafts, never leave it unattended, and stop burning when about half an inch of wax is left.
