The wave is drawn in the flat curling style of a woodblock print, and where the foam would be, black and white keys run along the crest in perfect order — the one rigid element in an otherwise fluid image. Blues shift from teal at the base to almost white at the lip. The mood is the moment before a wave breaks, or before a pianist starts.
