The story behind this design
A chevron on a cylinder does something a chevron on flat cloth cannot: as it wraps, the zigzag appears to climb. This design was drawn to exploit that, so the bands read as a swirl rising around the tumbler rather than as a stripe going round it. Grey carries most of the surface and yellow marks the turns, which keeps it from looking like sportswear and lets it sit on a desk without shouting.
