About This Item
The DipaliZ Underwater Baby Swaddle is a jersey infant wrap measuring 30 inches by 40 inches, made from 100% polyester and printed with an original under-the-sea fish design. The blanket is offered in white. Swaddle blankets outlive their first use: after the newborn months this one becomes a pram cover, a nursing cover and then a floor blanket for tummy time. The ocean artwork suits a nursery decorated around the sea rather than around pastels.

The story behind this design
Fish are good nursery subjects because they work at any orientation, and DipaliZ used that: the shoal swims in several directions so no fold of the blanket ever shows the pattern upside down. The colours are saturated rather than pastel, which holds a newborn's attention better than a muted scheme. The mood is cheerful and busy, a small aquarium rather than a calm sea.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Is this swaddle blanket organic cotton?
A: No. The material recorded for this blanket is 100% polyester, and its tags describe it as 100% jersey polyester. The organic cotton wording in the product title is not supported by the product data.
Q: What are the dimensions of the underwater swaddle?
A: 30 inches by 40 inches, the single size listed in the size option on this page.
Q: What is in the underwater design?
A: A colourful under-the-sea scene of fish drawn by DipaliZ, printed over a white blanket.
Q: Does DipaliZ make a matching fish blanket for adults?
A: DipaliZ lists a separate fish pattern microfiber throw in three larger sizes, so a nursery and a sofa can share a theme without sharing a product.
Care
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and tumble dry low. Wash before first use, keep bleach and softener off the print, and do not leave loose bedding in a cot with a sleeping baby.
