The fox is rendered in colors no fox has ever been, oranges pushed into pink and the tail resolving into pure magenta at its tip, which is the point rather than a mistake. The animal's shape stays anatomically honest underneath all that, so it reads as a fox first and a color study second. Against China Blue the warm tones sit at their loudest.
