The story behind this design

Zero gravity is the whole idea here: rider, bicycle and a scatter of small objects all hang a little above the surface, with nothing tethering them. Drawing the shadows separated from the objects that cast them is what sells the effect, and it is why the design needs empty space around it. Dark grey heather softens the contrast enough that the floating shapes read as drifting rather than pasted on.
