The story behind this design

Space patterns usually fail by being too busy, with every square inch filled by a nebula. This one leaves large areas of near-black between the bright passages, so the galaxies have somewhere to sit and the paper still looks like a night sky rather than a poster. The planets are small and few, placed to break up the star field instead of becoming the subject. On the satin finish the lighter clouds pick up the light, which is as close as flat paper gets to looking lit from behind.

Frequently asked questions

Q: What sheet sizes does this gift wrap come in?
A: Three sizes: 30 by 20 inches, 30 by 72 inches and 30 by 144 inches.

Q: What is printed on this gift wrap?
A: Galaxies, stars and planets across a deep space ground, repeated over the sheet.

Q: What paper finishes are offered?
A: Matte and satin. The satin finish carries a light sheen that suits the star field; matte is flat and non-reflective.

Q: Which sheet size suits a large gift?
A: The 30 by 144 inch length is the longest offered and covers several parcels or one large box; 30 by 20 inches suits a single small gift.

Q: Is this gift wrap only for a particular occasion?
A: No. The space design carries no seasonal motif, so it suits birthdays, graduations and gifts for anyone interested in astronomy.

Care

Keep the sheets rolled or flat and away from damp before use. Paper gift wrap is not water resistant, and the dark ground shows a crease more readily than a pale one.
