The story behind this design
A meadow is the hardest botanical subject to draw for a square format, because nothing in it is centred and the whole point is the disorder. This design solves it by keeping the stems roughly vertical and letting the flower heads fall where they will, so the pattern has direction without having a focal point. Yellow and white against pale ground keeps it summery rather than heavy.
