About This Item
The DipaliZ Gold Damask Wrapping Paper is a satin-finish gift wrap printed with a gold damask pattern. Two sheet sizes are sold, 28 by 39 inches and 28 by 79 inches. Mirrored medallions and scrolling stems repeat across the sheet in the classic damask arrangement. Weddings, anniversaries and formal Christmas gifts are the occasions this paper was drawn for.

The story behind this design
The satin finish is doing something specific here that a matte sheet could not. Damask was woven as a play of two weaves catching light differently, so the pattern only fully exists when the surface reflects. On satin paper the gold shifts as the parcel turns, which brings back a little of the original cloth effect. The medallions are drawn full and symmetrical rather than stylized thin.
Frequently asked questions
Q: What sizes does this damask gift wrap come in?
A: Two sheet sizes, 28 by 39 inches and 28 by 79 inches.
Q: What finish is the paper?
A: Satin, which is the only paper finish offered here.
Q: How does this differ from the DipaliZ gold filigree wrapping paper?
A: This is a gold damask of full mirrored medallions on satin paper, in two sheet sizes. The filigree wrap is a finer scrolling line on black, sold in three lengths on glossy or matte paper.
Q: Is the gold printed or foiled?
A: The gold is printed as part of the design. There is no separate metallic foil layer.
Care
Keep the wrapping paper rolled rather than folded and store it somewhere dry, since damp softens paper and a crease shows through a finished parcel. Cut it against a straight edge for a clean line.
