About This Item
A traditional clay diya in gold tones on a dark green ground is the whole front of this DipaliZ Happy Diwali card. The card is paper, 5 by 7 inches, and folds vertically; coated and matte finishes are both offered. Quantities run 1, 10, 30 and 50 cards. Because the inside is unprinted, buyers use this one for party invitations as often as for greetings. The sizes and options stated here are the ones on this page.

The story behind this design
Dark green is a southern and eastern Indian palette choice rather than the north Indian maroon, and it changes the mood of the lamp entirely: cooler, closer to a temple interior than a street. The diya is drawn simply, with the flame the only bright mark, and the gold is warmed slightly so it does not go flat against the green.
