The story behind this design

Red is the hardest Christmas color to print well, because it either goes orange or goes blood dark. This design keeps a single saturated red as the ground and lets the white of the stock do the drawing, so the motifs read as cut out of the card rather than laid on it. At 4.25 by 5.5 inches the card is small enough that the design had to survive being reduced to a handful of clear shapes.
