The story behind this design

Redwoods are difficult to draw because the interesting part is the scale, and scale needs a reference. Here the trunks are cropped top and bottom so none of them ends anywhere in the frame, which is closer to how the grove actually feels than a whole tree would be. The inks stay soft, a smoky green over a warm bark brown, so the print sits quietly on the pale shirt colors rather than fighting them.
