The story behind this design
The artwork runs around the mug rather than sitting as a single front panel, so the design keeps working whichever way the handle turns. Stars and stripes are broken into loose brushed bands instead of a literal flag, which is what lets it read at home as well as at a tailgate. The darker bodies, Navy Blue and Olive Green, hold the artwork best.
