The story behind this design
Because this version has to work on black as well as on naturals, the artwork is built from open outlines with no solid fill, so the garment colour shows through the fish and the tackle alike. The stars in the composition are drawn as hollow shapes for the same reason. A single warm cream ink does all of it, which is why the design reads as etched on the dark shirt and as drawn on the pale ones.
