About This Item
The DipaliZ Sunflower Bed Set is a cotton duvet cover with matching pillow shams. Large sunflower heads fill the cover, each with a dark seeded center and a ring of long yellow petals. This bed set is a cover, made to go over a duvet insert. The scale makes it a statement bed rather than a background one, which suits a plain room that needs one strong element.

The story behind this design
Sunflowers are usually drawn small and repeated; here they are drawn big enough that a single head covers a good part of a pillow. The dark brown seed disc gives each flower a heavy anchor, which keeps all that yellow from floating, and the petals are painted with visible brush direction rather than flat fill. The result is closer to a painted canvas than to a textile repeat, which is the whole intention.

Care
Machine wash the cover and shams cold on a gentle cycle with like colors, then tumble dry low and remove promptly to limit creasing. Wash cotton bedding before its first night on the bed so the weave relaxes. Skip bleach and fabric softener, and press on a warm setting if you like a crisp finish.
