The story behind this design
The shapes were built as cut blocks and arcs laid over one another, with no outline anywhere in the design. Purple is used at three strengths, from a pale lilac wash to a near-black plum, and that layering is what gives flat shapes their depth. Nothing in the composition is symmetrical, so the cover reads differently depending on which way up it sits.
