The story behind this design
Printing on clear glass is the opposite of printing on fabric: whatever is behind the glass shows through the design, so the artwork has to work with a moving background. The bees here are drawn with solid bodies and open wings so they hold their shape against any liquid, and the flowers are spaced around the circumference rather than massed on one face.
