The story behind this design
Roses and lavender are an odd pair on paper, since one is all mass and the other all line, and that contrast is what the painting is built on. Full pink rose heads sit low and heavy, and thin lavender stalks rise out between them with the florets dabbed on in single touches of brush. Pinks and violets stay in the same tonal range so nothing shouts, and the brush marks are left visible rather than blended flat.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Are the pages ruled?
A: Yes. The DipaliZ Floral Spiral Notebook has ruled pages throughout.
Q: How is the notebook bound?
A: It is spiral bound along one edge, so it opens flat on a desk.
Q: Is the cover actually painted by hand on each notebook?
A: The artwork was painted by hand and is then printed on each notebook, so every copy carries the same brushwork.
Q: Is there a size to choose?
A: No. This notebook is sold in a single size.
Q: How does this differ from the other DipaliZ rose notebooks?
A: Lavender is the difference. This design pairs roses with lavender sprigs, while the other rose covers in the range use roses alone.
Care
Keep the DipaliZ Floral Spiral Notebook dry and out of direct sunlight so the pinks and violets stay close in tone. Store it upright to protect the spiral.
