Marigold

About This Item

Marigolds printed on a white ground give this DipaliZ tablecloth its character. The cloth is 100% polyester and comes in one size. Marigold is the flower of Indian festival garlands and of late-season gardens, which makes the cloth as usable at a Diwali meal as at an autumn dinner. The fabric and the single size stated here come from the material record and the options on this page.

The story behind this design

Marigold heads are nearly spherical and almost solid color, so they photograph as blocks rather than as petals, and the artwork uses that: dense orange and yellow pompoms scattered over white with just enough stem to connect them. The white ground was kept clear so place settings read against the cloth instead of competing with it.

Frequently asked questions

Q: What is this tablecloth made of?
A: The tablecloth is 100% polyester.

Q: What size is it?
A: The tablecloth is sold in one size on a white ground.

Q: What is the design?
A: Marigolds are printed across the cloth, the yellow and orange flower used at Indian festivals and in autumn table settings.

Q: Can it go in the washing machine?
A: Yes. Polyester takes a cold machine wash well, and it should be dried on a low setting.

Care

Machine wash cold and tumble dry low, or hang to dry. Do not bleach. Press on a cool setting from the reverse if the cloth needs smoothing after storage.
