The story behind this design
The ranges are stacked as flat silhouettes, each a shade lighter than the one in front, so distance is read as tone rather than as detail. No tree, road or figure appears anywhere, which leaves the scale deliberately unclear, the hills could be a mile off or fifty. A single warm band low in the sky is the only thing that hints at a time of day.
Frequently asked questions
Q: What does this landscape show?
A: A range of mountains in receding layers, composed as a three-part triptych down a tall panel.
Q: What is the size and material?
A: An acrylic panel 12 by 36 inches vertical, 0.25 inches deep.
Q: Does it suit an office wall?
A: The narrow 12 by 36 inch proportion fits the wall space beside a desk or a door.
Q: How does this differ from the DipaliZ serene forest triptych?
A: Both are quiet nature pieces. This one has a horizon and open sky; the forest triptych has neither, and stays inside the trees.
