About This Item
The DipaliZ Purple Striped Bento Lunch Box is a compact lunch container with a wooden lid, listed in one size. The print is an original stripe pattern worked in purples, from a pale lilac through to a deep aubergine. The wooden lid is what distinguishes this range from the PLA bento boxes, and it is why the box is hand wash only. It is portable enough for a bag rather than a shelf.

The story behind this design
A single-hue stripe lives or dies on the spacing between tones, so this pattern steps through four purples rather than two, which keeps the bands from reading as a barcode. The darkest stripe sits off-center, which gives the box a front. Against a pale wooden lid the purples read cooler than they do on their own, and that contrast is the reason the palette was kept narrow.
Frequently asked questions
Q: What size is the DipaliZ purple striped bento box?
A: It is listed in one size.
Q: What is the lid made of?
A: The lid is wooden, which is what makes this a different blank from the PLA bento boxes.
Q: How does this differ from the DipaliZ retro pastel striped bento box?
A: Both use the same wooden-lid box. This one carries purple stripes; the pastel version uses softer multi-color bands.
Q: Is it big enough for an adult lunch?
A: It is a compact box, listed for both adults and children, so it suits a lunch rather than a full day's food.
Care
Hand wash in warm soapy water and dry the wooden lid fully before putting it back on the box. Do not soak the lid and do not put it in a dishwasher.
