The all-seeing eye has been drawn a thousand ways, most of them ornate, and almost all of that ornament is rays, clouds and triangles added around the eye itself. This version strips them out: a lid, a curve, a pupil, and nothing else. What is left is closer to a line from a sketchbook than to an occult symbol, which is the point, and it is why it sits comfortably on a plain gray hat.
