The story behind this design

Because the pattern is woven rather than printed, the boho motifs had to be simplified into shapes a loom can resolve: broad bands, stepped diamonds and solid blocks, with no gradients anywhere. That constraint is what gives the throw its slightly archaic look, closer to a coverlet than to a modern print. The reverse face carries the same design with the two yarn colors swapped.
