The story behind this design
On a midi length there is a great deal of fabric below the waist, and a small repeated motif gets lost in it. The snowflakes here are therefore drawn large and spaced well apart, so each one stays legible as the skirt moves. A pink ground keeps the dress from reading as festive wear, and the crystals are drawn as open outlines rather than filled shapes, which lets the color show through them.
